Question.....

If Obama gets the nomination for President, should Rev. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton (Spelling on that one sorry) publicly back him or not? Please give me your answer and why I would like some feed back and talk about this one. Personally I think if they back him in public the opposite effect will take place and people will think Obama is only for blacks and no one else as both sharpton and jackson have both seem to have been in the past. I feel that will put a bad taste in peoples mouths, but tell me what you think please. And no one sentance answers give me more than just no i think it won't hurt. Tell me your reasons. Thank you

I think Obama has clearly done a masterful job seperating himself from the stereotypical rep Jesse and Al have created for themselves. They would be best suited supporting him privately in the community, and not making any public stements about there support. If I was Obama, I would have a private meeting with them and make that shit crystal clear. I would tell them "YO...we can get some hookers and weed AFTER I get in that mutha fucka, but til then, keep your ambulance chasin asses outa my biznass"

Although I feel that both Jackson and Sharpton are extremely pro black, their public backing will only strengthen Obama in the pro black community (leading to more votes in that sector). This can only backfire if Obama makes public appearances with the two as they speak of Obama as a "black leader"... this will only inject the race issue into his candidacy, which will ultimately tic off the white vote.

For Obama's sake I hope those two stay out of it and keep their mouth's shut. He does not need anything from them at this point and because their credibility is questionable it would only hurt.
